Introduction to Shanghai Government Scholarships for International Students:
In order to further the development of international student education and attract more outstanding international students to study in Shanghai, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission established the Shanghai Government Scholarships (SGS) for International Students in 2005. It offers funds to prospective international students to pursue a bachelor’s degree or higher at institutions of higher education in Shanghai.

The scholarship is divided into three categories: Class A, Class B and Class C. Class A (Full Scholarship) offers funds to prospective students applying for graduate programs in Shanghai. It includes tuition, living expenses and Comprehensive Medical Insurance for International Students in China. Class B (Partial Scholarship) funds prospective students applying to pursue a bachelor’s degree or higher in Shanghai. The scholarship covers tuition. Class C (Excellent Student Award) aims to offer support to excellent international students currently pursuing studies at institutions of higher education in Shanghai. Recipients receive a one-off payment during the academic year.

Bocconi Need-based Scholarship

Bocconi Need-based Scholarship @ Bocconi University, Italy

Bocconi University, Italy, offers Bocconi Need-based Scholarships for international students (non-Italian) applying to a Bachelor program or a Law Program or Master of Science Program for 2015-2016 sessions.

Scholarships Eligibility 

Only applicants for the first year of a Bocconi undergraduate or master program who meet all the following conditions will be taken into consideration for the awarding of the scholarship:
non-Italian citizenship;
non-Italian residence;
a non-Italian High School Diploma degree/ Undergraduate degree earned abroad or in Italy


Scholarship details

The undergraduate scholarship provides a full tuition waiver, worth approximately € 11,000.00 per year for a maximum of 3 academic years (for Bachelor programs) or 5 academic years (for the Law program). The graduate Scholarship provides a full tuition waiver worth approximately € 12,000.00 per year for a maximum of 2 academic years.
Selection Criteria: The evaluation will primarily be based on the candidate’s need for aid, however, the candidates academic achievements will also be taken into consideration. The complete dossier provided to the Admissions office will be evaluated

Applicants must fill out and submit the online Bocconi Scholarship application form.

Important dates

For Undergraduate: 15th January, (Winter) and 19th March, (Spring) and
For Graduate: 12th December,  (1st round International), 20th January, (2nd round International), 20th February ,(3rd round International), 20th March,  (4th round International) and 28th April,  (5th round International).

Subjects of Study : Scholarships with duration 12 months each to pursue Specialized Post-Graduate Courses in the subjects: Fashion Technology, Economics and Management, Information and Communication Technology, Environment, Energy, Biotechnology and Microelectronics.
Eligibility :
1. Bachelor or equivalent degree with 60% marks in the subject opted, from a recognized University and/or 
2. Master or equivalent degree 60% marks with specialization in the subject opted, from a recognized University.
3. Age not to exceed 35 years. Preference shall be given to candidates who have received offer/invitation or secured admission in the above specified subjects in any University or Institution in Italy. Such candidates should produce before the Selection Committee a document proving the offer/invitation/admission. The stipend shall be Euro 700 for month. The reduction in course fee for scholarship holders shall be at the discretion of the University. The Scholarship holders are therefore advised to verify with the University authorities at the time of enrollment.
Application Procedure: Application in prescribed format with attested copies of testimonials, photograph, programme of study/research, fitness certificate, two letters of introduction from Indian academic authorities and other documents may be submitted or plain paper. Employed persons are required to send their applications through their employer.
